A handcrafted, custom made commission for our Edinburgh client, every aspect has been carefully considered to create a truly timeless piece that instantly makes the Edinburgh apartment feel more inviting. Unlike mass produced furniture, this bespoke handmade table carries the mark of true craftsmanship, where every joint and curve of the pedestal has been meticulously shaped by hand.

Methodology & Inspiration

Inspiration

This Georgian reproduction table draws direct inspiration from 18th-century Georgian design, an era known for its balance, refinement, and understated luxury. For our Edinburgh client every detail has been carefully considered to stay true to that era while ensuring it sits well within their home and meets the needs of a modern apartment.

Proportions

Georgian pedestal tables are admired for their graceful proportions and practicality of being movable, lightweight with folding and swivelling tops, and this bespoke handcrafted commission for our clients captures it all. The solid walnut was hand selected from our timber merchants for its beautiful grain pattern, strength and character,

Elegance

The elegant pedestal base, a hallmark of Georgian design, provides stability without unnecessary bulk. It was turned on the lathe here in the workshop over a weeks period to ensure we achieved the right proportions and elegance. Solid brass castors were chosen not just for their function but for their classic Georgian aesthetics.
